We are about lake levels, water quality, zoning, boating safety, shoreline preservation, fishing and the surrounding wildlife. To be successful, we need the support of the masses of Lake Martin lovers. When we fight the fight, we have to all stand united and say that we are thousands strong and we mean what we say. Lake Martin, The Crown Jewel of the South, is located in Tallapoosa County, Elmore County, and Coosa County in Alabama. It is a 44,000 acre lake with over 750 miles of wooded shoreline. Lake Martin was formed after the completion of Martin Dam on the Tallapoosa River. Martin Dam is used to generate hydroelectric power for Alabama Power. One of the largest artificial lakes in the United States, Lake Martin is a popular recreation destination for swimming, boating, fishing, water skiing, camping, and golfing. Many waterfront neighborhoods and luxury homes are located on Lake Martin. The cities of Alexander City and Dadeville are located nearby. |
Our StewardshipHOBO's have been initiating activity to preserve and protect Lake Martin since we formed in 2007. We've kept our membership informed of important lake licensing issues as well as provided information on flood insurance and Alabama drought programs. We support our community with boater safety programs and provide information on local resources and agencies.
